Tubal Ligation Reversal And Having Tubes Reversed

For the woman who regrets having her tubes tied it may seem like the biggest mistake she has ever made. When she speaks with her physician she is told that she and her partner will have to look into IVF. Yes, IVF may have helped many couples but it is also very expensive. The only way they would be able to afford it is to take out a loan or a second mortgage on their home. This is not even a feasible option. Although many couples are able to afford the alternative it is just impossible for some.
There is another solution for couples that would like to have a child after a tubal ligation. It is called tubal ligation reversal. In this surgery the fallopian tubes are repaired or put back together. This is a surgery that can be performed as an outpatient procedure and can cost as little as $6000.00. There are surgeons that specialize in just this type of surgery. The surgery itself, if performed as an outpatient procedure, usually takes about an hour. The recovery time for most patients is about two weeks. Many women are able to return to their jobs after a week as long as there is no heavy lifting.
There are a few things that should be taken in account when a couple is researching their options. The first is the type of tubal ligation that was performed. The more damage that was completed the tougher the repair surgery. The second factor is the couples age at the time of the ligation reversal. As women get older the fertility rate drops. As the rate drops it can take longer to become pregnant. Many women who are approaching the age of forty will begin to get nervous about this. A couple of things to keep in mind if you are one of these women. The first is that there are many women who become pregnant after the age of forty and have successful pregnancies and healthy babies. The second is that there are tests that can be performed to test both the quantity and quality of the eggs.
Tubal reversal surgery is also the most natural way to have a child following a tubal ligation. Once the reversal is performed and the healing is completed the couple is then able to begin trying to conceive each cycle. There is no added medical intervention that will be needed unless there is a problem further off in the future. This is one of the main reasons why couples choose this procedure. There is no missed time out of work due to repeated procedures. The healing time takes about two weeks for most women. There is a time period after the fact where there should be no heavy lifting but most are pain free in about a week.
Having the procedure performed as an outpatient procedure means that there is less time away from loved ones. Many tubal reversal moms already have children at home that they do not want to leave for too long. By having the reversal performed as an outpatient procedure the surgery takes about an hour. The patient is then able to go back to a hotel and rest following the surgery. The following morning a tubal reversal nurse or surgeon will come by to check on the patient. Once the nurse or doctor has done examining the patient she is able to leave with her partner. Once the healing is complete then the couple is then able to begin trying to become pregnant.

  2. Many tubal change mothers already have kids at home that they do not want to keep for a lengthy time. By having the change conducted as an out-patient process the surgery treatment requires about an time.
